At CF Fresh, mushroom growing is more than a business – it’s a way of life. For each of the family farms that contribute to our product line, mushroom cultivation is at the heart of a long agricultural history. Multiple generations have planted, harvested and honed their skills to become leaders in the mushroom farming industry.
Our growers were some of the first to embrace state-of-the-art Dutch technology, and 19 years ago erected a farm that utilized aluminum growing shelves.
Our mushroom growers were also among the first to implement Mushroom Good Agricultural Practices (MGAPs) – the commodity-specific audit developed by the USDA and national in scope – and all six of our mushroom farms have continually passed MGAP audits. We’ve even set up in-house training to ensure that we continue to meet the industry’s exacting standards.
